I don’t know when I wrote this but it’s good.
“When they say make America great again it is not in the sense it of going back to some past time of greatness. It is more in the sense of re-making America; burning what exists now to the ground to build up fresh into a Western Eurotopia based on objective Randian self determinism. The underpinnings of which are not cooperative to any other ideas but their own. This is missed by people on both sides of isle, liberal and conservative, because cooperation and reaching across the isle is the only way to insert themselves into the political spectrum. Once inserted, they play on fears to strengthen their base and separate creating and “us and them” dialogue and eventually an attitude.
Dems are unfortunately on defense because they are drawn as the foil here and are characteristically social justice advocates. Amiable republicans are taken for the ride because their party “appears” to be in power but in truth, this Influence is only concerned with turning this country into something else entirely while using patriotic buzz words yet effectively authoritarian in nature. America has been dumbed down enough to have no concept of an intellectual coup so in turn leaves the back door open for scoundrels to come in and become part of our environment. Our short attention span allows our initial unsettled feelings to dull as our normal life continues unimpeded.
The “Influence” and the people best representing it are folks who once believed the American dream but have been let down. They have discovered the freedom of no longer being tied to an idea. This includes Christianity but Christianity is a useful tool at the moment. Eventually this idea will permeate a larger and larger number of people.
They are anti-American in the sense that America means a place that is multi ethnic and a beacon of hope for the world. These people want a homogenous society with a more authoritarian law structure where differences are tolerated, not brought in as citizens. They tie themselves to Republicans for expediency not because they believe in their party. They cartoonishly exaggerate Republican talk points while subtly reforming the party’s inner workings. They consider a two party system a joke and a tool to do exactly what they are doing now. They play the game so well we all are assuming we exist in the same political environment that just needs the right votes. We may be past that point now and Pandora is out of the box. Most of us are just now starting to catch up with what is really going on. Even me.”
